Crossover SUVs are all the rage these days, but if you want to get a great deal, large sedans may actually end up being the better buy. They’re spacious and comfortable, loaded with features, offer powerful engines, and usually return solid fuel economy. Large sedans may not be quite as cool as they once were, but if you’re in the market for one, buy the right car, and you can probably save a good bit of money off MSRP.
While only Cadillac is offering incentives on a national level, Consumer Reports assembled a list of the eight large sedans you’re most likely to get a great deal on. They’re all solid choices in their own right, but with a big discount, they become even more enticing. Here they are in alphabetical order.

1. Buick LaCrosse
What the Buick LaCrosse lacks in coolness, it makes up for in luxury and value. It’s an extremely comfortable car that offers a number of luxury and convenience features like adaptive cruise control and a standard rear-view camera. It’s not a sports car, but it still handles better than Buicks of years past, and it does so without losing much of its cruising comfort. The Regal offers more sporty driving dynamics, but the LaCrosse is more spacious and can probably be purchased at a great price.

2. Cadillac XTS
The XTS was built largely as a placeholder for Cadillac while it readied the recently-revealed CT6. The CT6 will likely be a better all-around car, but with aggressive deals on the XTS, customers shopping for a large luxury sedan may still find it appealing. It’s incredibly spacious and comfortable, and its high-end interior is excellent. Drivers may struggle to use the Cue infotainment system, but for much less than a Mercedes S-Class, it probably won’t matter.

3. Chevrolet Impala
The Chevrolet Impala is a favorite for Consumer Reports and is actually one of the highest-scoring cars it’s tested recently. The badge on the front of the car might not be as prestigious as one on a true luxury car, but everything else feels like it belongs in a luxury vehicle. The V6 is powerful, the back seat offers plenty of legroom, and the trunk is huge. A number of advanced safety features are available as well. The potential discounts just make it even better.

4. Chrysler 300
If the Impala isn’t quite your style, or if you can’t get a discount at your local dealer, the Chrysler 300 is also one of the best large sedans on the market. It’s accommodating enough for five adults to ride in, and the interior made it onto WardsAuto’s list of the 10 best interiors of 2015. All-wheel-drive and a V8 engine are available, but the V6 will probably be plenty powerful for most people. For people who struggle with infotainment systems, the 300 might be the best choice if only for its intuitive Uconnect touch-screen system.

5. Dodge Charger
While a 707-horsepower, supercharged version of the Dodge Charger is available, you definitely won’t be getting any discounts on that setup. Like the Chrysler 300, the Dodge Charger’s base V6 is plenty powerful for most drivers, but anyone looking for more power can choose from more powerful V8 offerings. Much of what makes the Chrysler 300 great is available in the Charger is well. Drivers will just find they end up trading a little bit of luxury for added sportiness.

6. Ford Taurus
When Ford brought back the Taurus, it injected it with an extra dose of style. Its packaging doesn’t leave the Taurus with the most interior room, but other than being stylish, it’s comfortable, efficient, and offers lots of features for the money. MyFord Touch, the brand’s infotainment system, can be frustrating to use, as can the sluggish transmission, but for several thousand dollars off MSRP, it could end up being a great deal anyways.

7. Kia Cadenza
Kia isn’t known as a luxury car company, but its version of the Hyundai Azera, the Cadenza, is a great luxury car alternative, especially if you’re considering the Buick LaCrosse. It offers everything you could want out of a near-luxury sedan at a great price, and it still comes with Kia’s excellent warranty. The controls are simple to use and easy to understand, and the 293-horsepower engine provides plenty of power. The only real disadvantage is that some of the more desirable driving aids are bundled in with pricey packages.

8. Kia K900
To the casual observer, the Kia K900 may as well be the Cadenza. They both look very similar to each other, but under the skin, they couldn’t possibly be more different. The K900 is based on the Hyundai Equus, making it significantly larger than the Cadenza. It’s also rear-wheel-drive. $60,000 for a Kia is quite a lot of money, but discounts aside, the K900 offers quite a lot of features for the cash. Buyers intent on owning a Mercedes S-Class are unlikely to be convinced to buy the Kia instead, but with tons of room and an available 420-horsepower V8, customers shopping for smaller sedans may find the extra space desirable. Slow sales may also make for extremely steep discounts as well.
